airBaltic launches flights to Kaliningrad

On 2 July this year, Latvian airline airBaltic will open direct flights to the Russian city of Kaliningrad, in cooperation with Pulkovo airlines. The flight will be airBaltic’s 32nd direct flight from Riga.

airBaltic president Bertolt Flick commented, “Kaliningrad is a vital business centre for the Baltic Sea region. Our strategy is to link Riga and Vilnius with all the most important cities in this region and ensure the highest possible flight frequency. For that reason, we have been planning to fly to Kaliningrad already for a long time. We are delighted that we can now offer our passengers yet another important route.”

To begin with, airBaltic will operate flights from Riga to Kaliningrad four times per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Flight time, in a Fokker-50 aircraft, will be 1 hour 10 minutes. The price of a one-way ticket will start at LVL 55.60 (EUR 80), including airport fees.
