Macdonald unveils new micro-sites

Macdonald Hotels & Resorts has launched its new and enhanced website, redesigned to provide a better service and experience to customers, including a simplified booking
service and up to the minute special offers.Recognising its key clients,
the corporate and leisure markets, the group’s website now offers dedicated
areas for both client bases.

As the UK’s fifth most visited hotel website, receiving over 400,000 unique
visits each month, the redesign reflects the Group’s aim that the website
should work harder to convert more of those hits into bookings, by providing
the type of information that corporate and leisure clients need via their
respective micro-sites.

Reflecting the quality and commitment it offers to businesses, the corporate
section offers a full listing of the group’s 65 properties across the UK and
includes details of ‘Meeting@Macdonald’, the dedicated conference and events
service, which offers everything from private dining to team building
facilities.

And, for leisure clientele, the website focuses on their key interests,
offering specialised luxury breaks from murder weekends to golfing breaks.
As well as including details of its VITAL health and beauty clubs, the
website also presents essential wedding information including a list of
those hotels with civil licenses.

Speaking about the websites latest re-design, Rachel Dommett, Macdonald
Hotels’ Head of E-Commerce said:

“Following the implementation of a comprehensive online brand strategy back
in March 2005, we were encouraged by our increase in web revenue and have
continued to see online booking rise steadily. Because of this, we
recognised the need to make information easier for our business and leisure
clients to find.

“Now, with dedicated areas for our business and leisure clients, with a new
booking agent and with all the information a customer may need to make a
decision about booking a meeting, function or a stay with us, making a
reservation or booking facilities couldn’t be easier.

“Our website is currently the UK’s fifth most visited hotel website and hope
its redesign will encourage even greater online booking, increasing the
visit/online reservation conversion rate.”
