Spirit Air inaugurates San Fran, Detroit service

Spirit Airlines today inaugurates new daily non-stop service from San Francisco International Airport to Detroit Metro with connecting service to Atlantic City, Cancun, Fort Myers, New York’s LaGuardia Airport, Orlando and Myrtle Beach, S.C. In celebration of Spirit’s inaugural San Francisco flight, customers will enjoy cookies and refreshments in the departure lounge courtesy of the San Francisco International Airport.

“We are thrilled to start service from the premier San Francisco area airport today,” said Barry Biffle, Chief Marketing Officer of Spirit Airlines. “This service is just in time for Bay Area residents to save on their summer travel. We offer low fares, full-frills on new planes to great destinations.”

Martin, Airport Director, SFO. “Spirit’s low fare service to Detroit and its many connecting options will tremendously benefit Bay Area residents as well as the travel industry overall.”

These new flights will be served with Spirit Airbus A319 aircraft holding 138 passengers with 8 in Spirit Plus Business Class and 130 in comfortable coach class. Spirit will complete its transition to an all new Airbus fleet by this fall.
