Cybertrust announced that Amadeus has earned Cybertrust Security Management Program (SMP) Perimeter Certification. Amadeus Earns Cybertrust Security Management Program Perimeter Certification; Global Leader in Online Travel Management Solutions Reinforces Commitment to Customer and Partner Information Security
The certification, which covers the hosting operations for Amadeus e-Travel Management, Amadeus’ corporate travel management solution for corporations, confirms that Amadeus continues to meet the highest levels of security and protection from external infiltration to its customer information, and creates controls to define and enforce internal information technology policies and procedures.
Cybertrust SMP Perimeter Certification represents that Amadeus has secured their network and devices, including its e-mail perimeter, DMZ-networked infrastructure, wireless security, and physical and human/administrative elements. By identifying critical assets and mitigating risks to its perimeter, Amadeus can assure customers and partners that it maintains a maximum level of security.
“Now, more than ever, protecting highly sensitive employee and financial data is a key concern for companies when considering an online travel management strategy. Cybertrust SMP Perimeter Certification underscores our ongoing commitment to provide customers and partners with a world-class hosting operation that offers the highest levels of data and systems protection, while consistently delivering the reliability, scalability and performance companies have come to expect from Amadeus,” said Jerome Destors, Director e-Travel, the e-commerce division of Amadeus.
“In addition to its own rigorous security procedures, Amadeus has proactively sought out a partner that can provide its customers and partners with third-party reassurance that their personal and travel data is secure,” said John Holland, Cybertrust senior vice president and regional general manager, EMEA. “Cybertrust’s SMP allows organizations to assess and plan around their greatest security priorities, such as balancing IT risks with operational risks, achieving and demonstrating ongoing compliance, and controlling security costs. SMP customers can easily review their entire organization’s security risk posture and communicate their status to shareholders, management, and auditors.”
SMP is a programmatic approach to security management that reduces security risks, improves the overall security posture, and enables an organization to demonstrate efforts to meet compliance requirements and leverage its existing investments in people, processes, and technologies. SMP provides a foundation from which to develop a security program that will effectively mitigate real risks to corporate computing environments. Moreover, SMP protects critical systems and information from hackers, viruses and other security threats.
