Amadeus is reiterating its commitment to data security by completing the Cybertrust Security Management Programme (SMP) Perimeter Certification for its corporate travel management division. The certification, which covers the hosting operations for Amadeus e-Travel Management - Amadeus’ corporate travel management solution - confirms that the company continues to meet the highest levels of security and protection from external infiltration.
“Now, more than ever, protecting employee and financial data is a key concern for companies embarking on an online travel management strategy,” commented Jér™me Destors, Director e-Travel, the e-commerce division of Amadeus. “Confidentiality, integrity and availability are core strengths our customers look to Amadeus to deliver. The Cybertrust SMP Perimeter Certification further underscores our ongoing commitment to provide corporations with the reassurance that their data is being looked after in the safest possible environment.”
In gaining the certification, Cybertrust gives Amadeus customers using the Amadeus e-Travel Management solution peace of mind that their travel data is fully protected and secure. In addition to ensuring that Amadeus’ system maintains the highest levels of security across its network and e-mail, the certification includes elements that protect physical and human/administrative elements - the areas of a network which traditionally are most susceptible to viral and hacker intrusion.
Speaking on behalf of Cybertrust, John Holland, SVP and regional manager for EMEA at Cybertrust commented, “We commend Amadeus on its commitment to information security and achieving SMP Perimeter Certification. Cybertrust’s SMP allows organisations to assess and plan around their greatest security priorities, allowing them peace of mind when conducting web-dependent business. The travel industry is an excellent example of where highly sensitive information is frequently sent via an online environment and therefore where security has to be of paramount consideration.”
