World Cup widows escape with easyJet

Women wanting to escape World Cup fever next month are being urged by easyJet to take to the skies in search of the ultimate football-free zone. The leading low-fares airline, is encouraging World Cup ‘widows’ across the UK not to lose out this summer and have some fun of their own.

Over half a million people will fly with easyJet to Germany during the World Cup to enjoy the game or soak up the party atmosphere.  Sarah Pritchett from easyJet, asks why should it only be the boys that jet off to have some fun?

“The ladies don’t need to be left home alone this summer.  easyJet has a great range of affordable destinations on offer with something to suit everyone. With destinations such as Geneva and Paris to shop to your hearts content, Prague and Warsaw for a few cultural days away or Palma and Cagliari to soak up the sun.”

With 64 matches due to be broadcast over one month there will be no escape from football for those who choose to stay at home.  For the first time, internet technology means people can watch match coverage from the remotest parts of the UK.  It can be available on handsets of mobile phones, televisions and PCs.  Public spaces everywhere will be full of phones bleeping with the latest news or broadcasting the roars from the live game.

And with one in seven men expected to take a sickie* to watch one of the games, Sarah Pritchett says there is only one real solution for those looking for a bit of peace and tranquillity.

“Take to the skies, at 35,000 feet our passengers can be rest assured that they won’t be disturbed by the latest bleeping news bulletin on a mobile phone or the chants from a live football broadcast.”

“And, the added bonus is that once you land there’s a football-free experience waiting to be explored in search of some peace and tranquillity, or some adventure or retail therapy.”
