Freedom Direct is implementing an integrated travel selling and management system supplied by Comtec within its UK call-centres and across its extensive network of travel homeworkers.
The integration of Comtec’s modules will enable selling data to be exchanged between Freedom’s front and back-office via an automatic handoff. According to Freedom Direct this greatly speeds-up both the holiday search process and the accuracy and efficiency of data-entry into critical back-office services compared with the manual re-keying process previously in place, states an official release.
Martin Jones, managing director of Freedom Direct said certain areas of its business have previously used TravelCat to support our back-office processing, albeit via a largely manual process.
“We felt integrating TravelCat with EasySell across our business would create great synergy and this has proven the case with the booking and management time associated with some complex travel itineraries
reduced from over 10 minutes to under two minutes. Also, importantly, as a result of the richer data now being exchanged via the automated booking handoff, we now receive improved and more timely management reports,” said Jones.
Freedom Direct has also implemented Comtec’s Webview consumer booking management module which enables Freedom’s customer to access their bookings via the company’s website. The new “My Booking” service also enables consumers to print itineraries, travel documents and make payments which Comtec states enhances online service whilst further reducing Freedom’s administration overheads.
Richard Turner, sales director of Comtec, a software provider to the UK leisure travel sector, added: “Our selling and management modules work very well as standalone products, however, more and more UK agents are now recognising the significant business benefits associated with sourcing an end-to-end front and back-office service via Comtec”.
