Greek civil aviation to go on strike

The Federation of Civil Aviation Associations is to stage a 24-hour strike on Wednesday called by the General Confederation of Employees of Greece.The walkout is expected to cause major disruption in flights of nationalcarrier Olympic Airlines, with only one flight per country and one flight perdomestic destination to be served, the operator’s management said in astatement.

The move means the cancellation of 51 flights on Wednesday involvinginternational airports in Athens, Thessaloniki and Rhodes, the statement said.
