Etihad revels in impressive 30:30 growth

Etihad Airways is celebrating the
achievement of launching 30 international destinations in 30 months,
which has taken place during one of the most impressive periods of
growth for a new airline.

The unprecedented speed of this expansion has seen the world’s leading
new airline commence services to many of the world’s most important and
prestigious cities, including Brussels, Johannesburg, Manchester, and

“For Etihad Airways to open routes to 30 international destinations in
30 months is an incredible achievement. This growth will continue and
Etihad is on-target to achieve its ambitions of flying to 70 world-wide
destinations by 2010,” said H.H. Dr. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saif Al Nahyan,
chairman at Etihad Airways.

This week Etihad will commence new services to Paris and Dhaka,
highlighting the Abu Dhabi-based airline’s aims of linking major
population centres in the east and the west. The Paris inaugural flight
takes place on 3 May, with Dhaka following on 4 May.

In the last six months alone, Etihad has also opened new routes to
Islamabad, Jakarta, Lahore, Manila, Muscat and Peshawar.

By the end of 2006 the Etihad network will also include Casablanca,
Doha, Jeddah and Kuwait, along with New York.

The expansion of Etihad Airways’ global network of destinations is
taking place at the same time as Etihad’s new fleet of 29 Airbus and
Boeing aircraft arrive in Abu Dhabi.

In the last week alone, Etihad has taken delivery of its third A330-200
and fourth Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

“It is no coincidence that Etihad has twice been awarded the title of
the world’s leading new airline. With almost a third of the new fleet in
operation, our innovative product is being enjoyed by new Guests
everyday. By offering the most advanced product to our Guests, such as
our Pearl Zone business bed and wireless internet access, we will ensure
that the more people will choose to fly with Etihad,” continued H.H. Dr.
Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saif Al Nahyan.

The Abu Dhabi-based airline will also use the forthcoming Arabian Travel
Market as the ideal opportunity to show-case this growth. In line with
the new destinations, Etihad’s stand will have a unique theme to reflect
the cities of Paris and New York.

Senior members of Etihad management will attend the ATM, including H.H.
Dr. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saif Al Nahyan, Chairman of Etihad Airways and
Robert Strodel, CEO of Etihad Airways.

“ATM 2006 will be another opportunity to demonstrate to the airline
industry exactly how Etihad is changing the shape of air travel. These
are very exciting times for Etihad and we look forward to welcoming new
and existing Guests on Etihad Airways,” concluded H.H. Dr. Sheikh Ahmed
Bin Saif Al Nahyan, chairman at Etihad Airways.
