Bookings, ASF ink deal

Autoroutes du Sud de la France (ASF) is signing a partnership deal with Bookings to enable hotel reservations to be made online at its site www.asf.fr.

ASF is looking to get closer to its clients - both French and foreign, in particular English, Belgian, Dutch, Italian, German and Spanish - who regularly use its motorway network each year for holidays or for business travel. Through the Bookings service, ASF can now offer complete peace of mind to customers travelling on its motorway network by offering a hotel reservation service. The customers’ needs can vary from a stopover near a toll-motorway or simply a charming hideaway in the region.

Donatien Renard, Marketing Manager at ASF, stated: “Hotel reservation is a natural extension of the role of ASF as a key player and facilitator in the travel sector. 80% of the French take their holidays in France and increasingly are inclined to travel in stages by car for reasons of security. As far as foreigners who visit France are concerned, the reserving of hotels is an essential service which needs to be provided to them. We have chosen Bookings since their service is incredibly simple and user-friendly and offers all the flexibility necessary when travelling by car. In this way there is the possibility to make a last minute reservation by checking the hotel availability without any pre-payment required.”

Véronique Duet, Partner Account Manager at Bookings, said: “Through this deal, Bookings is associated with a major partner in tourism in France. This partnership totally reflects ASF’s philosophy which is “to share more than the road”. The ASF network covers some of the most beautiful regions in France and represents a true invitation to travel. Our hotel offering is perfectly suited to those destinations, with more than 3,000 hotels throughout France - half of which are in the south.”
