Antigua gets two new spas

Sunsail Club’s Club Colonna is opening the doors of its new spa in June.  The Serenity Spa will re-emerge with four new air conditioned treatment rooms, a hair salon, sauna, steam rooms and relaxation area and the introduction of the award- winning Elemis product range. A menu of pure indulgence awaits guests with treatments including Reiki, Shiatsu and acupuncture.

Curtain Bluff will also be opening a new spa in October 2006 with a beauty salon and five treatment rooms, one of which will be a couple’s room with twin whirlpool tubs for wet treatments.  The spa will be located on the side of the bluff with unobstructed views of the calm beach.

Blue Spa, located at the chic and serene Carlisle Bay, www.carlislebay.com, is situated in its own two-storey Caribbean pavilion providing five single treatment rooms and a luxurious couple’s massage room all of which have been designed with colour therapy lighting.  In January 2006 Blue Spa introduced Aromatherapy Associates products and treatments to its spa menu in addition to the Living Nature’s Spa Therapy range that is also available.  Aromatherapy Associates use 100% pure and natural plant oil with no added colour or synthetic preservatives.

Blue Spa has four signature treatments: the Blue Spa Well Being Massage, the Aromatherapy Associates Facial, the new Tropical Fruit Scrub using fresh Antiguan grown pineapples, mangoes and papayas, and Living Nature’s ‘Soul Food’ which includes a body polish, a body mask and a full body massage.

Dian Bay Resort & Spa is a secluded retreat on Antigua’s eastern coast, with spectacular views of a beautiful azure lagoon, two pristine beaches and the ocean beyond. This unique resort, with only fifty rooms, allows guests to lavishly relax on secluded Lover’s Beach, a two-minute boat ride away, or in the Dian Bay Spa. The state-of-the-art spa offers treatments including Fango Therapy, the Sun Soother and the Tango Massage; a 90 minute full body massage for couples given by two therapists which also includes a 15 minute hydrotherapy tub or Swiss shower.

This luxury resort offers sophistication and tranquillity along with excellent Caribbean hospitality.  Guests can choose from a selection of beauty and spa treatments including these special packages; ‘Welcome to the Island’, a 90 minute treatment including a massage, facial, steam or sauna and ‘For the Bride’, a three and a half hour treatment including make up, body wrap, facial, manicure, pedicure, shampoo and blow dry.

Beyond the resorts visitors to Antigua can book into The Tree House Body Shop in English Harbour, 00 1 (268) 460-3434, where a variety of beauty treatments and massages are on offer in an authentic Caribbean setting.

Antigua is a welcome spa break destination for both those who need an intensive week of pampering and rejuvenating and for those who just need a little TLC.
