The Consumer Travel Americas business unit of Cendant Travel Distribution Services is signing a new distribution agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group. The deal provides Cendant TDS’s consumer brands, which include Orbitz and CheapTickets, with access to hotel room inventory for individual hotel room sales and vacation packages at IHG branded hotels and resorts around the world.
IHG properties include some of the world’s most respected and well-recognized brands like InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts and Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express. Through this new relationship, brands like Orbitz and CheapTickets can offer its customers rates directly from IHG’s central reservation system.
“This partnership strengthens our long-term relationship with InterContinental Hotels Group and gives travelers even more options when they book hotels on Orbitz.com and CheapTickets.com,” said Jeff Grant, vice president of hotels for Cendant TDS’ consumer travel unit. “This new distribution relationship bolsters our direct access to IHG’s brand portfolio of premier luxury to value conscious properties - a deal that truly offers a hotel stay at everyone’s price range.”
“Over the many years that we’ve worked with Cendant, the Company has demonstrated a commitment to and respect for guests and hotel owners similar to IHG. We’re pleased that our brands will continue to be available to their customers,” said Andrew Rubinacci, vice president, Business Development, Distribution Marketing, IHG.
As part of the agreement, approximately 3,600 IHG hotel properties will be accessible for bookings through Orbitz.com, CheapTickets.com and Lodging.com. These new InterContinental Hotels Group rates add to Orbitz’ existing wide selection of merchant and published rates at more than 50,000 independent and brand name chains worldwide.
