WhereToStay.com triples reviews

Since the launch of the company’s “Reward the Reviewer” program earlier this year, WhereToStay.com has tripled its monthly reviews from travelers offering a first-hand account of a recently-visited hotel property. As part of the promotion, which was created to help celebrate the website’s 10-year anniversary, travelers who write a review of a hotel property on WhereToStay.com will have the chance to win an iPod nano MP3 Player.  One prize will be awarded each quarter of 2006.

“We are extremely pleased with the excitement that this promotion has generated among consumers,” said Thom Dunaway, founder and president of WhereToStay.com.  “Our mission is to provide unbiased reviews of properties around the world, and we are happy to be able to offer an exciting incentive for travelers to post their opinions on our site,” he added.

In an effort to list and feature traveler reviews for every accommodation on the planet, WhereToStay.com has introduced new marketing and promotion initiatives, such as the “Reward the Reviewer” program and its recently-launched, six-month-long “Getaway Giveaway” consumer promotion (awarding a vacation prize valued at over $4,500) to heighten awareness and demonstrate the value of using WhereToStay.com as the primary research tool when looking for vacation accommodation options.

As the first travel website to feature traveler reviews, WhereToStay.com redefined the industry, giving travelers a voice and providing hotels with impartial feedback.  The traveler review star-rating system points readers in the right direction, with unbiased and verifiable travel accounts.  Reviews are closely monitored and tracked by an editing staff to ensure legitimacy and accountability.
