Hilton Hotels Corp has signed an agreement to manage a five-star hotel in central Shanghai, the Shanghai Daily reported citing a company official. The Conrad Shanghai, which will feature 362 rooms and meeting and recreational facilities, is now undergoing interior decoration and is scheduled to open in mid-2008 in Xintiandi, the paper said.

The project is being developed by Shanghai Li Xing Hotel Ltd, a joint venture between Shanghai Hotel Investments Ltd and Shui On Private Group. The investment amount was not released.

In addition to the Shanghai facility, the Conrad Beijing and a Conrad-brand hotel in Macau will also open in 2008, the paper said.

The paper said Hilton is also in talks to sign three to four additional hotel management contracts in China.
