UK Press: Airlines face peak congestion charges

Airlines may face congestion charges for using European airports at peak times, under proposals to be unveiled on Thursday by Jacques Barrot, European Union transport commissioner, reports the Financial Times.
Peak-time charges for airlines, which would be offset by lower fees for flights taking off and landing at other times, is among the proposals Barrot will make at a meeting of airlines, airport operators and trade unions starting in Brussels on Thursday, the report says.
