SpaAsia Awards take a new direction

The submission, nomination and voting process for the 2006 SpaAsia Crystal Awards are being revised after receiving a ‘heartening and enthusiastic response to the Awards, including interest from other regions outside Asia’.As the Spa Asia Crystal Awards from 2006 onwards aim to provide a
quality-driven approach to honouring the best, they have revised the
submission, nomination and voting process to reflect this. The new
process is designed to ensure that:

*      Excellence is honoured regardless of size

*      The selection of nominees that go forwards into the public vote
is driven by quality and integrity and not just popularity

*      Benchmarking standards in the industry guide nominations

*      The process is transparent

They have introduced a USD100 (one hundred US dollars) Submission Fee this
year per entry into each category. This is to support the cost of
administration of these new quality-driven awards through a longer and
more stringent process. The Submission Fee is the same for all entrants
and all categories.

Nomination for an award is not influenced by anything other than the
awards process itself. An entrant can only win if they have submitted a
report that fulfils all criteria for that category, have passed the
review by a Panel of Experts and the inspection process, and gain the
public vote. An independent and internationally recognised auditing firm
will be commissioned to audit the submission, review, nomination and
voting processes. The winners will only be known by a representative
from the auditing firm and SpaAsia prior to their announcement at the
Awards Ceremony on August 24th at the SpaAsia Wellness Summit in Hua
Hin, Thailand.
