Wotif.com announces that Ben Smith, a senior executive at Investec Wentworth, has been appointed as the second independent director for the company.Smith joins the Wotif.com Board with 17 years’ experience in corporate finance and advisory across the gaming, media, telecommunications, technology, property and hospitality sectors.
He has experience in mergers, acquisitions, equity capital markets and private raisings, and corporate strategy.
His current position with the corporate advisory area of Investec Bank has seen him act for both Australian and overseas clients in hospitality and technology sectors.
Commenting on his appointment, Smith said: “This is an exciting time to be involved with Wotif.com. As a user of the site I believe it offers a great service, which I have keenly watched evolve and prosper during my time in both the leisure and technology sectors.
“The Wotif.com team has done a first-class job building the company to where it is today, and I look forward to being involved as it progresses even further and enters into the public arena,” he added.

Ben has a BSc (Hons) Economics, majoring in accounting and finance, from the London School of Economics, and has various industry qualifications including the Securities Institute Diploma and the City Financial Diploma.
