Sandals endorse MacNair Travel

MacNair Travel Management/American Express announced is a recipient of Sandals Resorts “Best of the Best” Star Award and ranked 3rd for entire Southeast region for top producing travel agencies.

MacNair Travel sent 15 percent more honeymoon couples to all-inclusive Sandals and Beaches Resorts in 2005 and achieved an overall growth of nearly 30 percent in its honeymoon division over past year. MacNair’s President and CEO Michael MacNair credited the growth to the agency’s approach to honeymoon planning. “MacNair Travel provides its bride and groom couples with detailed itineraries, the best prices, and quality support by well trained and knowledgeable local professionals,” he said.

Sandals is among MacNair’s top preferred suppliers, MacNair says. “Our clients enjoy unique values at Sandals and other top vacation spots as MacNair Travel is associated with American Express Travel and enjoys its global buying power.”

The awards were established in 2001 to recognize the continued support and achievements of travel agents in the success of Sandals and Beaches Resorts, according to Olivia Rodgriguez, event planner, Sandals Resorts. “STAR stands for Sandals Travel Agency Recognition. We want to thank the travel agencies for everything they have done for Sandals and for their years of dedication and loyalty.”

MacNair Travel is continually growing its honeymoon division by adding honeymoon dedicated travel staff and is currently enhancing its Web site to include online reservation opportunities and great planning information for its valued customers. Focusing on the agency’s honeymoon and romantic travel specialization, MacNair Travel hosts monthly Sandals Caribbean Nights and monthly Sunday specials.

Holding monthly Sandals Caribbean Nights draws in about 13 to 15 couples each event, MacNair’s Vacation Manager Skip Fortier said. “Typically, about half of the attendees are excited and relieved because their honeymoon is planned within seven days of the event. Meeting a Sandals representative at the event, working with the agency’s Sandals experts, seeing the product in person and maximizing the power of visual material helps the couples make their decision if Sandals is the dream honeymoon for them.”
