JAPEX 2006 heads to Negril

The 16th annual Jamaica Product Exchange (JAPEX) will take place in Negril, Jamaica from April 23 - 25, 2006.
JAPEX, sponsored by the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) and the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA), offers a forum for suppliers of the Jamaica tourism product to meet with travel wholesalers and tour operators from across Europe and the Americas, in a professionally organised business exchange.  Created in 1990, JAPEX is supported by many Jamaican organisations interested in the development of the island’s tourism product.

Meetings are scheduled in advance through a computerised appointment-matching system, and additionally at the event in on-site scheduling sessions.  The system creates two meeting types:

1.)    The perfect-match appointment, bringing together a buyer and a supplier who have each specifically asked to meet the other

2.)    The buyer-requested appointment, based solely on the buyer’s request for a meeting with a supplier of choice

“JAPEX is a dynamic arena for everyone involved in Jamaica’s tourism industry and offers an excellent opportunity to sell the Jamaica product and boost arrival figures,” stated Elizabeth Fox, regional director, UK and Northern Europe, for the JTB.
