Malev announces Gatwick service

On 1st May 2006, Malev Hungarian Airlines, the national carrier of Hungary, launches a double-daily flight (12 times a week) from London Gatwick to Budapest Ferihegy Airport.  These new flights are in addition to the existing double-daily (14 times a week) London Heathrow route; bringing the total number of Malev flights from the UK to 26 flights per week.

Fares from Gatwick will lead in at £87pp return inclusive of all taxes and charges.

Doros Theodorou, UK Country Commercial Manager at Malev comments; “We are extremely happy to announce the scheduled route from Gatwick as it will make travel between the UK and Hungary even more convenient and efficient for our passengers.  The departure times will benefit both the business and leisure market wishing to travel to Budapest as well as offering good connections within our extensive Central and Eastern European network”.

Malév has been operating for over half a century and now ranks amongst the leading airlines of Central and Eastern Europe.

In the face of competition from low cost carriers, Malév continues to provide an “all-frills” service at “no-frills” prices, including allocated seats and a full meal service.
