France’s hotel operator Accor will build this summer a 39 million euro hotel in Bucharest, under its Novotel business brand, said Philippe Drivon, Novotel general manager. Novotel Bucharest hotel will be four-star rated and will have 277 rooms. It will be located on the former site of Romania’s National Theatre, destroyed in World War II by an American bomb, and its lower section area will copy the façade of the former theatre.
Bouygues Romania will carry out the hotel’s construction works.
Accor eyes the construction of 20 hotels in Romania by 2011, in Bucharest and in the main cities.
Accor group has been operating in Romania its Ibis and Sofitel hotel brands and the Accor Services, its corporate service division.
