Aussie, Philippines flights get air officers

Air security officers will soon be seen on flights between Australia and the Philippines. Australian Justice Minister Chris Ellison has signed the agreement with the Philippines government in Manila.

It is part of an election commitment to further strengthen Australia’s aviation security situation.

The agreement will allow Philippines airport security officers to operate on Philippines-registered aircraft and Australian security officers to operate on Australian-registered aircraft on routes between the two nations.

Authorities have yet to say when security officers would be on flights between the two countries.
