First SWISS jet in Star Alliance livery

SWISS joins Star Alliance on April 1 and preparations are in full swing. The first visible sign of SWISS’s imminent membership will appear March 20 when a SWISS Avro RJ 100 takes to the skies in Star Alliance livery.

Each member of Star Alliance has some of its aircraft flying in the colours of the world’s largest airline alliance. In advance of its entry into the alliance on April 1 SWISS has had its Avro RJ 100 HB-IYV aircraft painted in Star Alliance livery. SWISS will deploy this aircraft on European routes as of March 20. Parallel to this, all other SWISS aircraft will carry the Star Alliance logo, which will be positioned between the forward door and cockpit window.

The Star Alliance is the world’s biggest airline alliance, comprising 17 members upon SWISS’s inclusion.

The Star Alliance logo - a star consisting of individual elements - symbolises the dynamic and harmonious interplay of individuals within the group and thus illustrates the basis for a successful alliance.
