Emirates shelves Danish flight

Emirates airline has postponed indefinitely the start of a regular flight to the Danish capital’s Copenhagen Airports.Emirates’ Nordic sales agent broke the news to Reuters news agency on Tuesday.

The Dubai-Copenhagen flight had been set to be open at the beginning of October, this year.

According to Danish media the flight has been shelved due to the controversy over the cartoons of the Muslim Prophet Mohammad that had appeared in various newspapers.

However, Aviation Marketing’s chief Goeran Hansson played this side of the story down, saying it had been postponed due to commercial reasons.

“We just feel it is not the right timing to start in October,” Hansson told Reuters.
