Hilton has announced two new European deals that will again expand its international distribution network.Leading French online distributor GoVoyages.com and leading German online distributor hotel.de are the latest companies to join forces with Hilton and make Hilton a preferred hotel provider. This will ensure GoVoyages.com and hotel.de benefit from Hilton best rates at all times.
Making the announcement James Farrow, Senior Vice President, Sales, Hilton International, said: “Great partnerships are at the heart of Hilton’s distribution strategy. To get the best deals to customers world-wide we must build strong relationships with distributors and today’s deals withGoVoyages.com and hotel.de again demonstrate our success in this area.
“Across Europe, customers are becoming evermore reliant on the internet when booking their travel requirements. In 2006, online travel bookings are expected to grow by 60% in Germany and by 40% inFrance and the UK*. Today, we are welcoming on board two leaders in the European online market and we will continue to grow our business as a result. These deals enable wider access to Hilton’s best deals and extensive inventory - this is great news for Hilton and customers alike. We look forward to announcing more deals like this in the near future.”
The deal with GoVoyages.com is a first for the company which is famous as a leading online provider of holidays in France. The company has a strong market presence in France and will now offer its customers the ability to independently book Hilton hotels across the world.
hotel.de is a leading online hotel reservation service in Germany with a customer base of more than 1.1 million hotel bookers and a booking volume of nearly 134 million Euros in 2005 - an increase of 127% compared to the previous year. hotel.de already has a number of prestigious partners such as Air Berlin and today’s deal with Hilton is part of hotel.de’s plans to expand into the French and British market in 2006.
Both deals build on the recent announcements from Hilton about new distribution deals with Opodo, Expedia, SideStep Inc and Active Hotels.
The deals are all in line with the equitable distribution contract terms announced by Hilton in September 2004. The terms of the contract ensure that the partnership is openly fair for both parties, while at the same time also paving the way to better deals for consumers.
