Last month, 2006 Divi Resorts broke ground on a new development at Divi Aruba Phoenix Beach Resort in Aruba that will more than double the size of the resort, adding 140 suites to the existing 101 units.
The new studios, one-bedroom suites, and two- and three-bedroom penthouses will be housed in four eight-story buildings and will feature fully equipped kitchens with convection oven, gas stovetop, microwave, and full-size refrigerators.
Additional amenities will include king-sized beds and queen-sized sleeper sofas, 32” or 42” plasma televisions, a washer dryer combination and well-appointed baths with Jacuzzi tubs.
Once complete, the expanded Divi Aruba Phoenix Beach Resort will be the premier mixed-use resort on Palm Beach in Aruba. The Divi Aruba Phoenix Beach Resort offers both nightly stays for traditional vacationers, as well as deluxe suites for the Divi Vacation ownership program.
Resort facilities will include two tennis courts, a new free-form pool with swim-up bar, waterslide, large Jacuzzi, a new open-air grill restaurant, beachside water sports center, and fitness center with state-of-the art equipment.
The project will be built in a single phase construction process with completion scheduled for December 2007.
“The Divi Aruba Phoenix development project coupled with the current construction of the luxury Golf Villas at the Divi Village Golf &; Beach Resort, show Divi Resorts’ continuing commitment to the economic growth of Aruba and the belief that the island is an unrivaled vacation destination,” said Alex Nieuwmeyer, Regional Director of Resort Operations Divi Resorts Aruba and Bonaire.
