More Russians opt for China tours

In a bid to accommodate the surge in Russian visitors to China, governments are promoting tourism services and improving bilateral cooperation. According to Chinese tourism officials, Manzhouli City received 554,000 tourists from Russia in 2005, up 20 percent year-on-year.

Attracted by China’s rich natural sources, long history and relatively low cost, booming Russian travellers are entering China to start their tours through border ports such as Manzhouli or Suifen River.
