The number of U.S. citizens visiting Taiwan has risen as efforts to promote Taiwan tourism in North America bear fruit, according to officials from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York.

The number of U.S. citizens visiting Taiwan in January totalled 31,000, marking an increase of seven percent.
