Kempinski will manage two on The Palm

Kempinski is set to manage two new luxury properties, developed by Emerald Palace Group, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The Kempinski Palm Jumeirah Residences, opening in 2008, will be set in grounds covering 92,900m2 located on the crescent-shaped breakwater surrounding The Palm, Jumeirah. The Palm is the world’s largest man-made island and its form celebrates the date palm, of vital importance to theÊ region since centuries. The island is a landmark for the Emirate of Dubai and is expected to become one of the region’s most sought after destinations.

The seven-storey classically styled building will feature an imposing Palladian dome and will be surrounded by luxuriant landscaped gardens. The 200 exclusive residences range in size from 165 to 1300m2, including spacious terraces or balconies.

First class facilities include access to the 500m long private beach, a state-of-the-art fitness centre and spa, open to residents and guests, a business centre, several restaurants and an international shopping arcade.

The Emerald Palace Kempinski, the second property to be managed by Kempinski, will be a hotel set in the same grounds as the residences and will also enjoy these facilities. The hotel will be one of the most luxurious on The Palm when it opens in 2009. The hotel’s unique design ensures that all 250 rooms face the sea for unparalleled views.

The Palm is ideally located for the many possibilities for outdoor activities, such as yachting, scuba-diving and fishing in the Persian Gulf. Dubai’s mainland is a short drive away, either over the connecting bridge or through the planned tunnel from the island.

Dubai offers further upscale leisure alternatives including golf, off-road desert driving or shopping and skiing at the Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates, with one of the world’s longest indoor slopes, opening this month.

Kempinski’s Senior Vice President Middle East & Africa, Ulrich Eckhardt, is convinced that these developments will perfectly complement the group’s existing portfolio, “Each property on The Palm is a true 5-star deluxe development by Emerald Palace Group, which Kempinski will be proud to manage. In addition to our ‘skiing resort’ in Dubai, we manage the famed Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi and have been established in the U.A.E. since 1998, with the Kempinski Hotel Ajman. We can appeal to a wider market with this variety of destinations in the U.A.E., all easily accessible with good airline routings from Europe, Africa and Asia.”
