Low cost airline Jet2.com is launching the first ever scheduled flights from Ireland to Tenerife.

Jet2.com is the only airline to be on sale now for winter 06/07 from Belfast to Tenerife - the first flights will take off on 05 October 2006.

In addition, the airline has also gone on sale with its summer 06 flights to ‘Brilliant Blackpool’ and added more flights to allow for a daily service, starting from £9.99.

The Canaries hotspot of Tenerife is situated off the North Africa coastline and has always been hugely popular with British travellers from all age groups keen to soak up year-round sun, cheap and plentiful nightlife and stunning scenery.

Jet2.com commercial director, Steve Lee, said that travellers from Northern Ireland had been desperate for their favourite airline to fly to Tenerife.

He said:  “We have been inundated with requests from both the general public and travel trade to start scheduled flights to Tenerife so, as is our nature, we simply had to give the people what they wanted!
