Snowstorm jolts Newark airport

Continental Airlines is preparing to resume operations at its hub at Newark Liberty International Airport after a major winter storm.Blizzard conditions and approximately two feet of snowfall brought operations at Liberty to a standstill on Sunday morning.

As the storm passes, operations are expected to gradually resume on Monday. However, numerous flights remain subject to delay and cancellation.

Many other airports throughout the Northeast region are also affected by the severe weather.

Continental’s Web site,, has information for travelers who are affected by the storm. Travelers can reference Continental’s current reaccommodation policies for rescheduling or rerouting their trip, as well as a current weather/operations summary.

With the storm causing flight cancellations, travelers should check for the latest flight status information before going to the airport.
