bmi launches student competiton

bmi is furthering its support of its recently launched Mumbai route from London Heathrow, with the sponsorship of
GapGuru’s ‘Journey with a Purpose’ competition.

The official sponsor of the competition, bmi is providing return flights to
Mumbai for both the winner and the runner up, giving two students the
chance to explore India and gain work experience by volunteering in a variety of
fields.

Schools from around the UK have been invited to take part in the competition,
with entrants describing in not more than 750 words what they would like to do
on a gap year, what they want to achieve and how they feel it will help them in
their future career.

Nigel Dolman,  bmi senior manager - long haul and regions - comments:  “We are
delighted to be involved with such an esteemed project aimed at students across
the UK.  We really feel that we are in a position to offer something to this
particular market, with an economy product that is one of the best available.
We have had great success with our Mumbai route so far, to the level that we are
increasing our flights from four times a week to a daily direct service from
April 2006.”
