Change at the top for WTM

Fiona Jeffery is being promoted from Group Exhibition Director to Managing Director of World Travel Market.

“The new title reflects the importance of World Travel Market as the world’s number one leading business to business event for the international travel and tourism industry”, said Reed Travel Exhibitions chairman Tom Nutley.

“World Travel Market is one of the top 5 of the 460 event portfolio of Reed Exhibitions worldwide and it is Fiona who has shaped the event to become a major industry player and a respected and valued forum for the industry worldwide.”

World Travel Market chalked up record figures in 2005.

There was a 5% overall increase in attendance to almost 49,000, more than 4% expansion in exhibiting space and a hike in both Meridian Club and trade visitors from overseas. Significantly, the WTM team also increased the attendance on the last day by 4%.


As part of her new role, Jeffery is looking to expand the World Travel Market brand.

“I want to harness the business effectiveness of World Travel Market for the direct benefit all our customers throughout the year, not just during the four days of the event. In this way, I believe we can constructively help further exhibitors and visitors to stay competitive, “she said.
