American awarded community prize

American Airlines is being recognized by the Dallas Black Dance Theatre for its support and commitment to the community of theatre and the arts.American Airlines will be awarded
the Community Arts Award which is presented to leading individuals,
organizations and companies who provide outstanding support to the community.
Past luncheon honorees have included First Lady Laura Bush and Congresswoman
Eddie Bernice Johnson.  American Airlines is being honored along with the
J. C. Penney Company and Marilyn Louis Johnson Mask for their special works in
the community and support of the Dallas Black Dance Theatre.

“We are excited to receive this honor.  American Airlines is committed to
continuing its support of the Dallas Black Dance Theatre.  We’re a company
that understands the importance of empowering the community and providing
opportunities and educational advancement for youth,” said Debra Hunter
Johnson, Vice President-Global Human Resources Services for American Airlines.
  The Dallas Black Dance Theatre is an international, dance-performing
company based in Dallas and has performed for audiences in Peru, Ireland,
Bermuda and Africa.  The Dallas Black Dance Theatre works with a group of
young performers and offers educational workshops and educational programs
throughout the world.
  “The Dallas Black Dance Theatre has made tremendous contributions for the
advancement of arts in our community and the theatre world.  We are proud to
be a supporter of their genuine efforts and we look forward to continuing our
partnership,” said Hunter Johnson.
