Beds for BA’s JKF, Manchester route

British Airways is introducing its Club World flat bed as
well as the premier economy cabin, World Traveller Plus, on its daily
flight between New York JFK and Manchester. In celebration of the launch, the airline is running an introductory
roundtrip fare sale of $1998 for Club World and $458 for World
Traveller Plus.

Passengers will be able to enjoy the comfort of a six-foot fully flat
bed in Club World, as well as a multi-channel entertainment system, a
moveable privacy screen and business facilities. The flat bed has the
latest cushioning technology, similar to that used in the latest
premium household mattresses, to provide customers with more comfort
and further ergonomic support. This is the first time such cushioning
has been used in an airline seat.

Customers also may take advantage of larger pillows and higher quality
thicker blankets to help them sleep even better. Club World customers
may enjoy pre-flight dining in British Airway’s Terraces Lounge at JFK
as well as pre-flight massages and spa treatments at the airline’s
Molton Brown spa in the JFK terminal.

World Traveller Plus is a dedicated cabin offering additional space and
comfort to the economy traveller by providing a new wider seat with a
38-inch pitch. In addition passengers are able to view an extensive
choice of entertainment channels, read a complimentary pre-flight
newspaper and receive a priority meal and drinks service.

Robin Hayes, Executive Vice President The Americas said, “We are
delighted to be introducing these unique and innovative products on our
daily New York services to Manchester. The new Club World bed has
redefined longhaul business travel. Customer feedback has been
extremely positive and we are sure that passengers traveling to and
from Manchester will feel the same.”
