Nordic hotel upgrades in-room tech

The Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel in Oslo is upgrading its in-room technology as part of a major refurbishment.
Most of the 488 guest rooms have been refurbished in ‘Ocean style’ - a combination of elements of the sky, ocean and fjords. The hotel is installing OTRUM Fusion and LCD screens in all Ocean Style rooms.

Mr. Jörg Schiffmann, General Manager at the Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel states, “For some time we have been planning to replace our interactive TV solution and it was natural to do this during the renovation of the hotel. OTRUM were able to assist us greatly in this matter, by planning a phased rollout of OTRUM Fusion. So far this has been very successful and has not caused any disturbance within the hotel.”

Mr. Fredd Causevic, President & CEO of OTRUM, states, “We have always maintained that interactive TV solutions need to be modular, hotels need to be able to provide the latest technology to guests and the only cost effective way to do that is by adding on to the existing ITV solution. With the Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel we are running two different OTRUM Interactive solutions in parallel, this is a typical scenario where a hotel is undergoing phased renovation whilst still in operation. We are very pleased to have been able to provide this service to the Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel and are proud that they have chosen to install our latest interactive solution, OTRUM Fusion.”

OTRUM Fusion uses open technologies such as MPEG, IP and DVB that allow OTRUM to deliver a truly scaleable solution for in-room entertainment and communication. OTRUM Fusion has been developed as a modular extension to the OTRUM product range, allowing for simple upgrades and even the possibility to simultaneously run OTRUM Fusion in superior rooms, whilst utilising other OTRUM solutions in standard rooms.
