Package holiday platform to launch

Travelsupermarket.com is launching a new package holiday platform on 1 February 2006, aimed at customers who want a complete holiday without wanting to self-package.  A significant number of major suppliers have already signed up to be part of the new service.

Chris Nixon, General Manager of Travelsupermarket.com, comments: “Anyone looking for a package holiday who doesn’t want to self-package can now simply compare the best deals on the market and make sure they get the cheapest package available.”

He continues: “It is clear the industry also shares our vision, as we have already received commitments from many of the major package holiday companies to partner with us in this venture, set to go live in February, by which time we hope to have secured the products of a number of others.”

Travelsupermarket.com compares over 120 travel websites to provide the best flight, car rental and hotel deals.  It gives accurate real time availability by ‘spidering’ information directly from the likes of ebookers, opodo, lastminute, as well as the low cost and charter airline websites and specialist car rental brokers and accommodation sites.

It compares low cost, charter and scheduled flights all at the same time and shows an unbiased listing of the most competitively priced first. There is the option for the user to choose from two alternative departure airports and flights and prices listed three days either side of the selected departure date.

Travelsupermarket.com recently launched a first in online travel search - the ability to simultaneously search the best price for a flight, hotel and car rental without having to undertake separate searches.  Other features include price comparisons for travel insurance.
