Nakheel serves up tennis legends

Nakheel played host to some of tennis’
biggest legends last week with an exclusive trip to The
World and a tour of the Nakheel Sales Centre.

The event followed the conclusion of Legends Rock Dubai, which saw some
of the games’ greatest ever players compete in a series of exhibition matches,
wowing the large crowd of Dubai’s sport lovers.

Visiting the Sales Centre, the legends, who included Bjorn Borg, considered
by many to be the greatest ever tennis player, Iran’s tennis showman Mansour
Bahrami, and former world number four Guy Forget were impressed by the
views of The Palm Jumeirah and the models of Nakheel’s projects, such as
The Palm, The World and Dubai Waterfront.

Talking about Nakheel’s
waterfront developments, Bjorn Borg, five times
Wimbledon and six times French Open Champion said: “I have travelled all
around the world and seen many different things but I have never seen anything
like this before.  The last time I was in Dubai was back in 1983 but I
am not going to wait so long again before coming back to such a beautiful
place”.

Having had a tour of the Sales Centre, the guests travelled by boat to
The World, where they spent time exploring The World’s show island, part
of Greenland.

Hamza Mustafa, General Manager, The World said: “Due to its exclusive nature
and unprecedented offering of supreme privacy, The World attracts many
VIPs and celebrities.  Our guests were visibly amazed by the beauty of
the development and specifically our show island.  It was an honour to
host such sporting legends and a pleasure to demonstrate the continuing
progress of The World.”
