Air Sahara deal for AA

American Airlines and Air Sahara have announced a fully
reciprocal frequent flyer agreement. Beginning Nov.15, the two airlines
will feature reciprocal frequent flyer privileges that allow members of
American’s AAdvantage program to earn and redeem miles when traveling on flights operated by
Air Sahara, one of the fastest-growing private sector airlines in
India. Likewise, members of the Air Sahara Cosmos program may earn and
redeem miles when traveling on flights operated by American.

In addition, subject to government approvals, American plans to put its
AA code on Air Sahara flights to 26 destinations including Delhi,
offering a more seamless customer experience to its customers traveling
to India and beyond. Air Sahara, in turn, will place its S2 code on
American’s transatlantic flights between Delhi and Chicago O’Hare and
select destinations beyond Chicago.

“Our agreements with Air Sahara will broaden American’s network in
South Asia and will position AA to compete very effectively in this
region” said Henry C. Joyner, American’s Senior Vice
President-Planning. “We will now offer our customers and AAdvantage
members more convenience, more travel options, and access to Delhi and
beyond.”
