Trip planner boost for Yahoo! Travel

Yahoo! Inc. is introducing a suite of new products in an effort to enhance the Yahoo! Travel user experience.

www.travel.yahoo.com has added a new Trip Planner Beta, which enables users to create, tag, share and print personalised trip itineraries.

The Trip Planner service is free of charge but Yahoo reportedly hopes to make money from advertising, and customer bookings.

Other new features include travel photos and a database of vacation home rentals from owners. The collective power of these new tools aims to enhance consumers’ ability to make their travel decisions, book their arrangements and organize their information in one place.

“At Yahoo! Travel, we want to help travelers find, use and share the knowledge needed to make the most of their trips,” says James Slavet, general manager of Yahoo! Marketplace - Travel and Autos.

“The launch of Trip Planner and our expanded community and content offerings are just the beginning of our plans to build the ultimate online travel resource,” said Slavet.
