Continental Seek Argentina Service

Continental Airlines
today announced it has received tentative approval from the Department of Transportation to begin daily nonstop flights between the airline’s hub at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston and the International Airport Ministro Pistarini de Ezeiza in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Pending final approval, this will be Continental’s ninth destination in South America and 78th Latin American/Caribbean destination. Continental’s service will also include daily through flight service connecting New York/Newark Liberty with Buenos Aires.

“Argentina’s economic upswing and its attraction as a tourist destination will make it a vital part of our Latin American route network,” said Pete Garcia, Continental’s Vice President for Latin America. “We are very pleased to have received this preliminary designation and look forward to receiving a final route award and announcing a commencement date once final authority is granted. Many travel partners, the federal, state, local governmental parties and our employees have supported our application for Argentina service; I would like to thank all of them for this major effort.”
