Antigua & Barbuda Hone in on Wedding & Honeymoon Market

The Antigua and Barbuda Tourist Office is announcing a new marketing and advertising campaign focusing on the UK wedding and honeymoon market, in addition to revealing stylish new images. With the ever increasing demand for weddings and honeymoons to take place abroad, Antigua and Barbuda are keen to expand the appeal of these islands, famed for offering 365 beaches - one for every day of the year.

The new campaign will include increased advertising in trade and consumer publications, greater participation in wedding shows and more consumer competitions and promotions.  A number of promotional and advertising opportunities are also being planned with leading tour operators to include joint advertising, specialist press trips, in-store promotions and increased on-line marketing.

Carol Hay, Antigua and Barbuda Tourist Office Director of Marketing - UK & Europe comments: “An exciting collection of new images has been produced, a large proportion of which are dedicated to highlighting Antigua and Barbuda’s romantic setting. They will be used to create awareness and promote the aspects of the islands that distinguish them from the rest of the Caribbean.”

Hay carries on to say; “Industry knowledge is also high on the agenda and the Tourist Office will be launching the ‘A - Z Antigua and Barbuda’ online training programme at this year’s World Travel Market to allow travel agents to increase their knowledge of the destination and win great travel incentives and prizes.”

Hay concludes; “With the Cricket World Cup 2007 just around the corner, and a series of spectacular one-day matches scheduled for Antigua, the Island continues to strengthen its reputation as a leading destination for sports enthusiasts.”

The Tourist Office commissioned well-established photographer Geoff Howes to take the new images, which are to be used in the forthcoming advertising campaign, promotional material and for Public Relations.
