Cendant Announces Launch Partner for aiRES

WestJet has become the launch customer for Cendant TDS’ next-generation Passenger Services System (PSS), aiRES in a multi-year agreement.aiRES is a new passenger services platform
designed to replace the older legacy airline
‘hosting’ systems. aiRES enables airlines to succeed in the new
consumer-driven and highly competitive industry.
aiRES enables business model changes without making major changes directly to the
software.  The system supports features such as distributed inventory
management, a customer centric booking process facilitated by customer
profile data, and fully configurable business process parameters.  In
addition, aiRES can enable airlines to integrate their distribution channels
with other travel services.

aiRES is being jointly brought to market through a business alliance between
Cendant TDS and IBS Software Services.

Don Bell, executive vice president, WestJet commented.  “aiRES’ open architecture and
flexibility will allow WestJet to more effectively implement change and
quickly respond to market conditions. Over the past year, our teams have
worked together to ensure that WestJet had the right foundation for success
in executing against our business strategy, and the tools to be able to
respond to changing market and competitive conditions. Cendant and IBS have
been able to deliver based on our unique needs, and we’re excited about the
future opportunities that await us.”

“The airline industry has long needed a new Passenger Service System that
more effectively supports rapidly changing business processes and evolving
business models,” said Flo Lugli, senior vice president, Airline Solutions
for Cendant TDS.  “WestJet’s commitment demonstrates the advantages in our
technology and flexible business approach”.
