HSMAI’s Econnect Adds RSS Feed for News Updates

7th Sep 2005

The delivery of hospitality and travel-related news right to your desktop is the latest feature of the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) Foundation’s eConnect. Through the new Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feed, industry news and information is automatically sent to users, providing the latest travel and hospitality news and information.

In a related move in the realm of staying current and informed of industry news and trends, HSMAI also re-launched its popular Industry Update Newsletter as eConnect Industry Trends Update, a bi-weekly newsletter as an exclusive benefit of membership in HSMAI. A compilation of news briefs on the state of the hospitality, travel and tourism industry, it provides access to in-depth articles, columns, reports and multimedia on eConnect.

“Managing all the information that is available to us is often a difficult and time-consuming task,” states Fran Brasseux, executive director of the HSMAI Foundation and executive vice president of HSMAI. “With this new RSS feed, those who want to stay connected and cut through the clutter have instant access to news, trends and data that are relative and timely.”

For more information and to download an RSS feed to start receiving real time news, go to www.hsmaieconnect.org/news.xml.

The HSMAI Foundation’s eConnect was created as a one-stop portal to global information and resources on hospitality sales and marketing topics. It delivers industry news and events; information on special interest groups, such as Internet marketing, revenue management, etc.; research papers and documents; industry links and resources; the eConnect Industry Trends Update newsletter; and sophisticated search capabilities.
While free to HSMAI members, with the launch of the new features and benefits to eConnect, HSMAI is making the site available to everyone for a 60-day period. Non-members may register to use eConnect and access the “members only” areas for 60 days from the date they register.

The HSMAI Foundation Research Partners for 2005 are: Benchmark Hospitality, Best Western, Cendant Corporation, Choice Hotels International, David Green Organization, Fairmont Hotels, IACVB, Interstate Hotels & Resorts, InterContinental Hotels Group, Maritz Research, Marriott Corporation, MGM Mirage, Radisson Hotels & Resorts, Smith Travel Research, TravelCLICK and Wyndham.
