The second edition of the best-
selling Asia’s Best Hotels & Resorts, the region’s only accommodation
guidebook based on travellers’ genuine opinions, was launched today. The new
edition has 25 percent more hotels, 64 additional pages and includes a loyalty
card—a first for the travel publishing industry—which gives discounts
and a USD 15 rebate to purchasers who register with HotelClub.com.
The book contains 400 hotels and resorts covering 22 Asian countries and
is an authoritative guide on where to stay on business or for pleasure. It is
the culmination of an online survey conducted in 2004, in which over 64,000
nominations for 3,732 hotels and resorts were received from travellers in 162
countries. The editors and independent hotel inspectors sifted through
comments and scores to select the most popular choices, and a team of expert
travel writers compiled the entries.
Published in association with Insight Guides, the 384-page guide includes
country overviews, and every hotel is rated on eight criteria including
ambience, value for money, staff attitude, family friendliness and dining
options. Maps highlight each hotel’s location and over 1,000 full-colour
photographs convey their ambience.
