Doubletree Completes High Speed Installation

Doubletree Hotels
has proudly announced that more than 40,000 guestrooms and more than two million square feet of meeting space across its collection of more than 150 upscale, full-service hotels in North America now offer high speed Internet access to guests. As a result, the brand introduced its new Doubletree Take Five Technology Solution—a comprehensive set of technology services for today’s business and leisure travelers. “Doubletree understands how crucial it is for business travelers to have the right mix of technology services available on the road that empower them to be productive and successful,” said Dave Horton, senior vice president - brand management for Doubletree. “The launch of our Take Five Technology Solution, which is just one part of the more than $375 million of product and service enhancements currently underway at our hotels, demonstrates the collective commitment by our brand team and hotel owners to reward today’s Doubletree guests with a newly refreshed hotel experience that ultimately provides road warriors with the true care and comfort they deserve.”
The Take Five Technology Solution consists of the following:

  1.  High Speed Internet Access In Guest Rooms(1)—All
Doubletree hotels now offer either a wired or wireless high
speed Internet connection in guestrooms. Just as important,
the service is backed by a 24-hour, toll-free customer support
line.

  2.  High Speed Internet Access In Meeting Rooms(1)—During any
meeting, seminar or workshop, no presenter has time to track
down an elusive or non-existent Internet connection. With a
convention services and technology team at each hotel that is
dedicated to ensure your meeting is a success, meeting
attendees can easily plug in their laptops and get down to
business at-hand.

  3.  Wi-Fi In Hotel Public Areas—Hotel guests also can enjoy the conveniences of wireless high speed Internet access in
hotel lobbies, lounges, restaurants and public areas for guest
use(2). Signage designates zones where guests can connect
their mobile devices—including wireless LAN-capable laptop
computers, tablet PCs and PDAs that operate on Microsoft
Windows, Macintosh, Unix and Linux operating systems.

  4.  24-Hour Remote Guest Printing Services—The remote, guest
printing service now available in all Doubletree guestrooms
makes it convenient for guests to print 24-hours-a-day from
their guest room to a central printing resource in the hotel’s
business center or at the front desk without special cables,
drivers or technical support. To use the hotel guest printing
service, guests simply connect to their in-room high speed
Internet service and use their Web browser to visit the
hotel’s printing Web site.

  5.  MP3 Connectivity To Guestroom Stereo Speakers—Business
doesn’t always have to be ... well, all business. Even the
most efficient working traveler likes to break up the
monotonous sound of work with their favorite “mobile music.” With the new Hilton Family alarm clock available at every
Doubletree, guests can simply plug in their portable music
device—MP3 player or CD player—and allow the stereo speakers to fill the room with their favorite music.

To round out the technology and service offerings, guestroom enhancements at Doubletree include spacious work desks, comfortable chairs, task lighting and power/communications outlets at desk height to ensure guests can be as productive as possible where it’s needed most.
