Hotel Staff Give a Pint or Two
More than 30 staff members participated in the blood drive held at the Al Raha Beach Hotel this week to donate blood and raise awareness of the constant need for a safe blood supply in the capital.

The Abu Dhabi Blood Bank’s regular community drive for blood donations allows for careful screening of both the donor and blood.Ê Dr. Ahmed Emam, the senior assistant manager for the blood bank, notes that all blood types are needed on a regular basis and encourages new donors to register.Ê

Emam said: “As more medical procedures stay in the UAE rather than going overseas, the blood bank sees an increasing demand for supplies from the private and government hospitals.”

Al Raha plans to host a blood drive once a quarter from the hotel which will be open to both the staff and public.
