Hilton Family Sponsors AIDS Walk

The Hilton Family of Hotels has announced Premier-level sponsorship of AIDS Walk L.A., representing one of the highest levels of sponsorship commitment, at $100,000. Additionally, Hilton HHonors Worldwide, which operates the HHonors guest reward program, will match the first $5,000 raised by the Hilton Family, heightening the motivation level for team member fundraising efforts, culminating with the October 16, 2005 AIDS Walk.
“For the eighth consecutive year and its first time at the Premier sponsorship level, the Hilton Family of Hotels enthusiastically is committed to fundraising for the Annual AIDS Walk in Los Angeles,” said Jeffrey Diskin, senior vice president - Hilton Brand Management, Hilton Hotels Corporation. “As a unifying effort, working together against a worldwide epidemic, this endeavor underscores the Hilton Family values and commitment to a spirit of peace and understanding through personal, professional and community connections.”
The goal set by the Hilton Family of Hotels is to engage more than 500 internal team members, families and friends, including all nearly 100 Hilton Family hotels within the Greater Los Angeles, Ventura and Orange County areas, to participate in the fundraising effort and collectively walk as one Hilton Family Team. Initial outreach began on Friday, July 22, with an internal launch celebration; registration and fundraising will continue throughout the next several months.
For the past seven years, Hilton Hotels Corporation has been involved by forming a walk team each year and raising more than $105,000 collectively. In 2004, there were 84 walkers representing The Hilton Family, who raised more than $50,000, ranking the Hilton Family the fourth highest fundraising team of 2004 and earning the Hilton Family special recognition at an AIDS Walk Los Angeles Kick-Off and Awards Presentation held August 4, 2005 at The Beverly Hilton.
“AIDS Walk L.A. represents a wonderful opportunity for the Hilton Family to support the fight against HIV and AIDS,” said Craig E. Thompson, executive director of lead beneficiary AIDS Project Los Angeles. “We are delighted with their Premier sponsorship level and look forward to working with the Hilton Family team to make AIDS Walk 2005 the most successful Walk yet.”
