Hurricane Emily to Cross Caribbean

A Tropical Storm that meteorologists are naming Emily is picking up speed and is predicted to transfer into a Hurricane late Thursday when it passes over the northern Leeward Islands somewhere between Dominica and Guadeloupe. It will be a category one storm.

This is the fifth storm of 2005 Atlantic Hurricane Season. Last estimates registered sustained winds be near 45 mph. The centre was estimated to be near 11.3 north and 47.0 west of about 700 east of
Barbados. The system is travelling toward the west at 13 mph.
