Howard Johnson recently signed an hotel management agreement with Busystar Real Estate Company to manage its hotel in Jiaxing of Zhejiang Province, a tranquil yet modernized satellite city located just 98 kilometers away from Shanghai.
The 55-story Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel, once completed, will be the tallest building in the province, as well as the first international 5-star hotel to enter the city. All 800 guest rooms will be on the 25th to 52nd floors, while the 53rd to 55th floors are for meeting, banquet and multi-function rooms. Offices and all other hotel facilities such as featured restaurants, business center, entertainment and fitness center are located on the 24th floor and below.

The hotel is centrally situated in Nanhu District, the political, economic and cultural center of Jiaxing, with close proximity to the railway station, long-haul bus station, as well as the municipal government buildings.

Jiaxing, being one of the major cities in Zhejiang Province, stretches out on the great plain of Hanghzou-Jiaxing-Huzhou, with Shanghai to its east, Hangzhou to its west, Suzhou to its north and Hangzhou Bay to its south; covering an area of 3,915 square kilometers with a population of 3.28 million.

Long known as the “land of fish and rice” and “home of silk”, for centuries, Jiaxing has been a national commodity grain base and one of Zhejiang’s important production bases for farm and sideline products. The amount of commodity grain supplied by the city accounts to 20% of the province’s total, while its output of freshwater fish ranks second in the province.
